This really annoys me - to the people at peugeot have no imagination? (no offense!) If u were to line all their cars up, you would have great difficulty in saying which one is which. Why? Why do they have to use tracing paper to design their new cars?

Probably to do with the fact that the 206 was a great success for Peugeot. It's probably a case of if it ain't broke why fix it.

It is to present a corporate image, to suggest that all the cars are in the same family.

The same could be said for BMW, they all have kidney shaped grilles. It's a kind of trademark.

With Peugeot, I'd be more worried about the lazy, incompetent engineering, and poor build quality.

All Fords look the same from the front, it's as Mike Hunt said, corporate image. It sets out their "image" for a few years

It's called branding. Stick the new vauxhall line up next to each other and they look the same too. Audi are fairly similar as are many others

It's a sad thing but most car makers do it as part of their corporate branding.
