At the moment it seems to be a matter of pot luck as to whether or not I can connect.
Their tech support staff are so stuck on following a script they don't listen to what you say to them.
I'm especially annoyed as I paid £125 to have a new line put in and a week later found out NTL would have done it for £25 (and I would have got cable TV for that as well).

Oh you've brought back all my bad memories of BT, they are absolutely rubbish, I spent almost a week talking to people in India and your right about the script, I had 5 line checks within an hour. I'm with Pipex now and have no trouble at all. Good luck.

Yes!

The hub is the most awful thing I've ever used. It disconnects itself randomly and can only be fixed by unplugging it and plugging it back in, or holding down the reset button. Connections that are still open when the hub decides it's had enough still work, but new connections will fail. So, for example, MSN may still function but you won't be able to access the web.

The support team are completely useless. My flatmate and I have phoned up several times, only to end up talking to someone who can barely speak English and are simply reading from a script. We want a new hub, but it sounds like they're all just as bad.

I think the best bet is to get a new hub/router, that should solve your problems. If it's a line problem though, keep phoning up and having a go at them, hopefully they'll listen eventually.

Damn! I just got a BT hub!
I know what you all mean about customer service and people reading from scripts in call centres in India, though.
I guess I'll have to see how my hub works out!

Yeah, especially with the hub. It's CRAP, keep disconnecting so have to unplug it for 5 seconds and repair the connection. I'm going to have to get a better modem/router.
