Most of them have a contract of 12 months. If it's a good company - it is good. I wish to be able to take Telewest but in my area they don't have cables. Very sad story. All my friends have Telewest and perfectly happy with everything.

Most contracts are 12-18 months. I'm on pipex homecall, i get free unlimited phone calls to 01/02 landline numbers, 8mb broadband including line rental all included in the price for £30 per month.

To be honest your going to find it very hard to find someone who will not tie you into a contract. I would go with the good old BT and if you have Sky take out there Sky Talk call package. No one on the market can beat Sky. All your landline to landline calls for £5 per month, what more can you ask for?

I recommend the M16, it can be detonated in two ways: by applying pressure or by pulling the spring-loaded release pin. Either method causes the pin to pull out of the fuse, releasing the striker and igniting the percussion cap. The percussion cap fires a delay element in the fuse, which fires a detonator after a short delay....... OHHHH you said LandLINE I thought you were looking for a recommendation for a landMINE!
Sorry...

go for bt and get softphone ,this i find to be of great value and you can get further info from bt.com,as well as my landline i can use two lines from my pc and make international calls from as little as 1.25pence per min,i have the router and not the hub and bt can give you a non geographical number, that means it may start with 01.02.05 and there is no extra charge for ringing the pc number from landlines and vice versa except mobiles but the charges are easy to download from there web site,i used to have bt communicator and changed over and i have free text allowance per month.

Contract aint worth the paper they are wrote on.
If you enter a contract and want out then you refuse to pay, they will soon cancel your contract for you.
Anyway the type of contract your talking about only exist if you accept any special offers.
