I think it is...I mean if she was homeschooled she is going to learn that subject automatically, but if she goes to public school she might not. That is why it is essential for today's young women to be educated in taking care of babies, cooking, cleaning, and sewing.

Home Ec. is as important for MEN as it is for women. Men need to know how to cook, clean and basically take care of themselves. If they can't take care of themselves, why would any woman ever want to be with them?

It's good to know things like this, but what modern women really does this stuff? You sound like my dad! My dad has always told me that women were inferior to men. The only thing we were good for was stayin home and taking care of the men and the babies. I knew how to cook and clean and sew ever since I was 8 years old. Ok i'll admit it...i took home ec...but that was only because I had all my high school credits. Look around you...how many real housewives do you see? Hardly any...women have their own life...we don't have to be servants to our men. We are not here only to cook and clean. We are not here just to make and take care of our babies. Get with the times man.

If you also believe that the most important subject to a boy in high school is home economics -- for the same reasons you mention -- then I would agree.
If you believe that only women are capable of running a household, then I would agree that you are a man-hater.

For some boys and girls it is..personally though chemistry was the most benefitial class I took in high school. It provided a good foundation for the undergraduate research I am now doing in college.

home economics is not the most important subject for a girl to take in high school but it helps out if she does, i think boys should take home economics also

and so should guys. relationships are a 50/50 split. Your both in it together, you both make bills, you both eat, you both dirty up the place, You both work, and 1 can not get pregnant without the other.
