Where? How large? How many bedrooms, baths, etc.? How many garages? What type construction: Wood, cement block, steel, straw, etc.? Roofing material? We would need many more details to even come close to a reasonable answer.

average building cost is 40 to 75.00 a square foot, plus the lot. Price varies by location. Check with your local housing insurance office and ask for "replacement cost per square foot" This is a close to buliding cost in your area as you can get.

Bear in mind we are not talking about the "pretty's" yet (ie fancy tile, carpet, paint, wallpaper, garden, shrubs, etc.)...I'm talking basic naked house ready to move in and decorate.

In my area $100 .00 a square ft. And thats just the house. Theres still landscaping and sidewalks and driveways and more. I am in southern IL.
