Hi there.
I would suggest making sure by asking your doctor. I know the reason why they dont want you to is purely to keep your body temp down, because after heat the outside of your body cools down alot quicker than inside, and it could literally 'cook' the baby! But if your only putting legs in it might be ok. You should try getting a spray tan, i know they are 100% safe, and instant tan!
Good luck!

There are lotions out in the stores now where the ingredients work with the pigments in your skin to help you darken. And it works. I've been using the AVON one, and it has definitely worked, people have noticed as well. I say, if you're even wondering about whether it would be okay or not to get into a tanning bed, you shouldn't. The best way is for you to use self-tanners or use the different lotions offered at your local Wal*Mart or Target.

Talk to your doctor. I think the biggest concern is that you don't let your body temperature rise to an unhealthy level. OF course doctors are going to be against tanning, pregnant or not, but he/she can at least give you some facts to think about with tanning and pregnancy. Most salons also require a doctors note before they will let a pregnant lady tan.

its not a good idea.. it gets hot in there and basically you shouldnt do it for the same reason you shouldnt use a hot tub.. you need to try to stay a comfortable temperature for the sake of the baby.. and remember too that you can go through some serious skin changes and there is always the possibility that the tanning and agrevating of the skin will make an minor skin condition worse

I never understood this concept of people paying money to burn their skin, when all I have to do is lay outside on a towel in shorts for 20-30 minutes a day right around high noon.

But I'm cool with the business owners of such salons because I get some pretty good chuckles out of it.

Are you crazy?? Just wait for the sun when it gets warm.Your body and baby would tolerate a little natural sun better than those hot radiation filled heat lamps. You are supposed to stay away from anything that hot while preggers even if it is just on your legs. DOn't advise it

there really is no point in that, wear tanned tights or get a fake tan done, so much safer and easier.
no tannign salon should let you use the beds.
it couls raise your body temp which is dangerous for baby .

Avoid. Remember, all the pregnancy hormones make your skin react unpredictably. So, why even take that risk. Plus, you are not supposed to let the body temp go beyond 102 f.

NO! You raise the tempture of you body and eventually what will happen is you'll boil your baby to death. It doesn't matter if it is your toes or hands or anything. If you feel hot that isn't a good thing for your unborn child.
