The punishment fit the crime? I am neither a Duke nor an UNC fan. But if you watch the replay in Slow-mo, which i have, the player that fouled Hansborough was looking him right in the eyes. Dukies can defend the player all they want, but the video does not lie. AFTER the contact, he looked for the ball. Is a 1 game suspension enough? Or should the NCAA make him sit out the hole tournament?

Hey notyou.

What part of looking Hansborough rightin the eyes you do NOT understand? I have play on Tivo. I don't care what you "thought" his arms were doing, but he looking Tyler in the eyes when he hit him. How was he going after a rebound while looking at Tyler?

At first I did not think it was an intentional foul but after looking at the replay many times that was as much of an intentional foul as you can get. Henderson could not of been going after the ball because it was out of his reach. He shouldn't of even been in the play because he was nowhere near the ball at the beginning. He came in full speed & meant to foul Hansbrough hard. For coach k to say that it was an accident is a total lie. For him to also say that "That's unfortunate, too, that those people were in the game in that play." that is bush. He was the one who was calling a timeout with 50 seconds left. If the game was over why wasn't he subbing players in? If you would of watched the game too you would've seen a player at the scorers table waiting to come get Hansbrough. "Michael Copeland was sitting [there] because I was trying to get Tyler out of the game. It's not my fault Tyler got the offensive rebound, and somebody missed the sucker." (Roy Williams).

Everyone has always said that Duke has all the class, well where is the class now. If you ask me coach k shows nothing but how much of a rat he is. Now Henderson is a good ball player & he is good friends with Wayne Ellington of UNC but that play was totally classless & he should be suspended for Duke's ONE ACC Tournament game & about 2, yes 2 NCAA Tourney games.

Don't know about the whole tournament, but definitely should be more than a one game suspension.

Coach K is not even considering adding a suspension of his own. He's scared he would be hit in the face with an alumni elbow......unintentionaly of course

You have to remember that after Christian Laetner stepped on the stomach of an opposing player and it was caught on camera, Coach K did nothing to him. Coach K approves of dirty moves....his version of NCAA street ball.

Hey looze cannon:
Where were Duke starters that hadn't fouled out? Which team was putting on a full court press on every inbound? Did you inform Coach K the game was over?

being a fan of both duke and unc(they send the best players to the NBA) i think the elbow was just incidental contact. who gives a hard foul in front of a referee? he also didn't have to jump in order to give an intentional foul. so why did he? because he was trying to block the shot, unfortunately, hansbrough was fouled and the ball was stripped. it was an unfortunate incident. a one game suspension is automatic for a flagrant foul of this magnitude. there's no reason to suspend henderson for more than one game.

good thing cooler heads prevailed and no brawl ensued. that shows class from both schools and i think that should be applauded.

for looze cannon: you sound like isaiah thomas. getting what he deserved for running up the score. didnt you see hansbrough's replacement by the scorer's table??

I AM a Duke fan, and I'll be the first to say, "Shut up, Billy Packer." Dude got smacked in the face. It was on purpose.

Neither player should have been in the game. People will ***** that the game wasn't over, but with the way Duke was playing, they were not going to come back from 10 points down in the last 2 minutes.

You put your starters on the bench. Then this doesn't happen.

You try to run up the score, you get what you deserve.

Sportsmanship works TWO ways. You disrespect a team, ANY team, and you usually get what you deserve. It doesn't matter if its Duke/Carolina or Northwestern/Purdue or two teams in Division III.

It WAS a dirty shot. I'm glad his nose is broken. Perhaps next time Roy Williams will be a coach instead of a fan and do the things that he's supposed to do.

And if not, I hope next time someone throws a fist instead of an elbow and breaks his face instead of his nose.

I'm split. In slo mo, it definitely looks intentional. The ball was gone and Henderson was looking at Hansborough. At normal speed, you have 3 large men jumping to the same space and contact is going to happen. No one will ever know for sure except Henderson.

Since it was a close call, I am comfortable with a one game suspension.

Idiots like Looze_Cannon keep bitching that UNC shouldn't have been "running up the score", but it was Coach K, not Roy forcing the issue. Frasor brought the ball across half-court with an ELEVEN point lead and less than 30 seconds left. If Coach K had any class, he would back his players off, let UNC sub-out it's starters and both teams would have finished with scrubs on the floor.

Instead, classless K had his players pressing and fouling. It's almost as if he were desperate to cover that 10 point spread or something.

he's not puffed up in any respect. only because your friends don't like him would not advise he's both. he's a good participant, record numbers. he's also a good team-participant. He could have lengthy gone to the draft after his sophomore season (even if he could/will be reliable, who's conscious), yet made it a level to enable easily everyone understand he's staying 4 years. Whoever stated he performed for an puffed up team needs to look on the numbers. 5 nationwide championships, second maximum wins in NCAA (in reality in the back of Kentucky), Dean Smith(duh), Michael Jordan, Vince Carter, Rasheed Wallace, James worth, and many many many more suitable. UNC is largely a practise grounds for destiny NBA HoFers, and if thats puffed up then please specify what makes them puffed up quite of talking with a foot on your mouth. I am a Carolina grad. I don't think Henderson meant to hit him in the nose. I do think the intent was to foul a Carolina player, Duke was losing, and Henderson wanted to knock the hell out of someone. It was a violent, confrontation, flagrant foul.

it appears the majority of the nation sees the 1 game suspension as being too light. If Coach "K"ommerical had any class at all, he would suspend the player for the entire ACC tournament...which will only be one game for duke anyway.

The hit on Hansborough was NOT intentional, if you did lok at the footage, you would see that the Duke player's arms were in a swatting position, looking to swat the ball, not break someone's nose
