If you're a fish, and the dolphin is hungry, I imagine so! If you're a human being, swimming in the water with them, giving them the love and respect they deserve, I think not. That's been my personal experience.
Ever since the New York Times 'broke' a story questioning the friendliness of dolphins, many people have asked if swimming with dolphins is really safe. To me, it is very safe. It is more than safe, it's a blast!
It's important to remember these are free animals, and if a dolphin ever acted strangely or if I felt at all uncomfortable, I'd swim away. But the dolphins I've met actively seek our company, and when they tire of it, they simply give a few flicks of their tail and disappear. It is a big ocean they live in!
I find that dolphins treat us with great love and respect. I'm continually inspired by their tenderness and generosity, and envision the day when humanity as a whole treats them the same.

No, all animals can be dangerous. Dolphins are usually playful animals. I think the point of the segment was not to say that dolphins are deadly, but to say to never underestimate a wild animal, because even an animal as cute and sweet as a dolphin can kill a person. But that is just a stereotype, you can say that humans are dangerous killers, but is that going to stop you from going to the mall?

All animals are deadly and dangerous in the "right" circumstances. Dolphins can be considered deadly to the fish they eat, and a pod of dolphins will gang up on a shark and kill it, so they fit the description in that sense. "Tamed and trained" dolphins get along quite well with humans, but then, so do trained bears and elephants.

Dolphins can be deadly and dangeous. The famous "killer whales" (orcas) like the ones that have injured trainers recently are Delphinidae (Dolphin family.)

all wild animals have the potential for danger. that's why it's a good idea to stick to the domesticated ones. their aggressiveness has (in most cases) been bred out of them.
