I don't think it does damage - but it's not exactly attactive either. Here in AZ, there are a lot of people who have piercings all the way up their ears & it's just too over the top - how do they sleep? If your folks are ok with it, it's an option - but as a parent I'd have you should wait till you are 16.

I have one that I got 15 years ago at 16. Get it done by a reputable piercer that uses a needle, not a gun. I think it's cute, and appropriate for your age if you use a stud or a very small hoop.
Also, be prepared to keep your hair pulled up for a few weeks and be very careful with shampoo and conditioner rinsing to avoid infection.
Titanium jewelry is best for a new piercing, and be sure to get it on the side you are least likely to sleep on. When I take mine out, there is a small hole, but nothing very noticable.
Good luck!

I like the cartilage piercings. I have had mine done since I was about your age. I am 34 now. It will not damage your ear. It does however take a long time to heal after you get it done. It will be sore for quite a while.

It probably wont do much damage to your ears but it might look a bit out of place since you're so young. I think the youngest person I've seen with that has been like a 16 or 17 year old

It won't do much damage, but it hurts A LOT. also, if you don't leave it in for the right amount of time, it can close up or infect and be a big problem. i would suggest just getting it pierced in one ear.

My sister got this piercing and it made her ear so infected that by the time she took it out her ear started rotting. That only happenends if you are not mature enough to take care of yourself. No offense but 13 is not the best age to get that certain piercing done. Maybe try waiting til you are 16.

At 13 you are old enough to handle the responsibility of taking care of a piercing. You will need your mothers permission for it, but I think you should go for it.
If you get the piercing done by a professional who uses proper tools and jewelry you won't have problems from the piercing itself. Damage to the tissue and its structure can occur if a bad infection sets in, but infection can easily be avoided by going to a reputable piercer and taking care of your piercing during its healing period (which is an average of 6 months but can be up to a year)
The only time damage is done from the piercing itself is if you get it done by a stupid Claire's employee or anyone else using a piercing gun.

Piercing guns and the post jewelry are not recommended for any piercing. They are poor quality tools and the studs are fairly cheap in quality.

It won't do any damage but just really think if you want it or if you are just trying to be "cool" or becuase other people have it. I got a few holes in my ears when I was a teenager and after about a year I never wore them anymore.

I don't think it will do much damage at all. One of my younger friends at school just got hers done and she is 12 (13 pretty soon) and it looks great! She said it didn't hurt but only a few minutes and she loves it! I say you should do it! Hope it works out for ya.
