Horror film?

Question

several years ago, I watched a film which was made up of several short stories, I'm pretty sure that there was a young boy reading them from a comic book, on story was of a woman who i think killed her husband with one of those old fashioned irons, then she was sitting by his grave drinking wine, and his hand came out of the grave and strangled her. the other story was of a man in a white room and all coakroaches came out of his mouth and killed him, another was that man from 3 men and a baby coming out of the sea covered in seaweed, at the end the boy reading the comic book was being looked after by a babysister i think who tried to cook him in the oven, but he ended up pushing her in the oven. DOES ANYONE KNOW THIS FILM ?? PLEASE HELP ME I WOULD LIKE TO TRACK IT DOWN AND WATCH IT AGAIN.

P.S. DOES ANYONE KNOW WERE I COULD BUY IT.

Sounds alot like "Creepshow"...or maybe even "Twilight Zone the movie" or an episode of "Tales from the Crypt"?

Sounds like Creepshow. I don't know if the region 2 disc is different but the region 1 has the story about the old guy coming back from the grave (think it was the woman's father and she had killed him), the cockroach story, the seaweed story (didn't Ted Danson look YOUNG!), & 2 others. There was also a Creepshow 2 but the cockroach story was definetly in the first one.

Five tales of terror are presented in the gothic style of the old EC comics such as Tales From The Crypt and The Haunt of Fear. The first deals with a demented old man returning from the grave to get the Father's Day cake his murdering daughter never gave him. The second is about a not-too-bright farmer discovering a meteor that turns everything into plant-life. The third is about a vengeful husband burying his wife and her lover up to their necks on the beach. The fourth is about a creature that resides in a crate under the steps of a college. The final story is about an ultra-rich businessman who gets his comeuppance from cockroaches.

Cult classic anthology from two of horrors big wigs, Romero and Stephen King, the film contains 5 sections, held together with 50's style comic images. A murdered man returns from the grave demanding his Father's Day cake and death ensues, a meteor's space ooze causes anything and anyone that comes in contact with it to grow (special appearance by Stephen King himself), a scheming vengeful husband buries his wife and her lover in sand to await death at high tide, a professor selects his nagging negative wife to become a tasty snack for a strange crated creature, and finally, a mean ole millionaire with an intense insect phobia becomes the prey of an army of cockroaches.

Lastly, in "The Haunted Dog", a cruel miserly doctor kills a homeless man by purposely giving him a contaminated hotdog - a tale of savage revenge from beyond the grave.




P.S. Another installment is due to be released in theaters in 2008 also so... enjoy the movie when it eventually comes out!
