The actual master cylinder should take about 1.5 hours to change. How long to bleed the system of air afterwards will depend on if the bleeder screws at the wheels are seized or not.

at home about 4 hours + (working on the ground, squashed upside down in the drivers seat ocassionally), maybe 2 if you're on a lift and can have all 4 wheels pulled to speed up the bleeding and dont bust your knuckles too much. That's a really tight engine bay to work in, I would suggest taking it to an independent BMW shop since that is a major safety item.

Motors manual gives it 3.5 hours this includes bleeding. Motors manual is a standards manual used by shops for estimating
