If his parents are aware of his suicidal thoughts and will do nothing you have no choice but to call the police. He will not get arrested because he has done nothing wrong, but they will make sure he gets the help he needs. His parents may get in trouble for neglecting him and not acting on his feelings, but they are not important in this, saving his life is the most important thing. If you are not comfortable telling the police, tell your school councilor or someone else in authority in school and they will take it from there. Other than that, keep being his friend and let him know he is important to the world and needs to stay in it.

contact the police, & tell them, talk to a counseler about him & see what gets said there, if he isn't willing to help himself, then there may be a problem, just let him know you are there for him, even if that means you have to back off for awhile, when he is ready for help, he will know that you are there for him because you offered to help him out in the beginning. Take care & help this boy to become safe, you are a trooper for still hangin in there with him, & you have courage to ask how to help. good luck

Someone you feel is on the verge of suicide is a very serious matter. I'm guessing you're a kid, so see your school nurse, a trusted teacher etc. and tell them who your friend is, why you feel the way you do about his mental stability and ask them to intervene on his behalf.

keep telling people until someone listens and helps. Talk to a counselor or anyone else you trust. You can't give up on him because he's annoying you but it's ok to find someone who can help so you don't have to have all the responsibility on your shoulders
