I haven't worn mine since the episode on Sex and the City. They are comfy but are they out?

Basically I am asking how much movies, television, magazines etc... influence our choices in life. I miss my comfy scrunchie but I would certainly never leave the house sporting one. :)

I use them all the time, but mostly to hold my curtains back at home. LOL
Seriously, I do have a couple that I'll wear if I'm at home doing housework. Of if I wear one out, it's only to put my wet hair up so I can put my hat over it so it doesn't freeze in winter. I don't always have time to dry my hair in the morning and I can't wash my hair at night.

Scrunchies were out long before Sex and the City had an episode on it. I know in the midwest, people tend to stick with just plain old goodie elastic bands or the ouchieless ones that are liek $2 for a pack of 20.
Scrunchies went out in the late 90's, about the only time I know that people use them is to sleep so they dont' get a hair crease, and to wash your face.
Believe me, I have an entire scrunchie basket that I just got rid of. I had a color for every outfit!

Scrunchies were dead and out long before that episode Sex and the City. If you are over ten years old the scrunchie needs to never leave your house. ever.

Uh, scrunchies died way before Sex and the City ever even came on air. Sorry to break it to you but they've been out since the mid-90s.
But I believe it was Oscar Wilde who put it best when he said:
"Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months."
Basically, if you like it and it makes you comfy, then why stop wearing it? Don't let a TV show dictate what you do, that's lame.

scrunchies are DEFINITLEY out. but im not really sure that was the media's influence. it is more of the trends changing as time passes.
i.e. how skinny jeans are now back in.

I always wear scrunchies!!!
I don't perfer the stretchy little ones, they leave dents in my hair!
I see a lot of people wearing them so I say WEAR THEM!

totally out. i wore them 2 yrs ago and ppl made fun of me! there too childish...the cool thing now is those elastics. just black or brown ones.

scrunches are deffinetly out. i dont know if sex and the city killed them but they needed to be killed.
