Explain why using www. and http or secure give the same results. Is one preferred over another?

And yes, nowadays, sometimes you do not have to even use this when googling sites. Why?

https=hypertext transfer protocol SECURE

www. and http: or https: are the same. for example http://www.google.com or https://www.google.com . You do not even have to put that anymore it could just be google.com
