Have a new home, the concrete porch is just ugly, boring, and sorta a mix of gray concrete color and red clay, any suggestions on possibly painting it?

you could have it overlayed and stamped but that will cost you about 10 dollars per square foot. just so you know. tile wont work if its outside and paint is only a temporary solution as it will wear off. carpet gets wet and stays wet and if you ever change your mind you swear when you try to get all the glue off. you could also use a concrete stain, a stain actually changes the color of the concrete therefore it wont wear off like paint. go to concretenetwork.com for ideas and contractors

If you want to paint it - I would paint it a bright, bold color. (maybe red or something) Then, you can paint shutters to match.
But, what I did with my concrete porch was to put this stuff on it - not sure the name - but it felt like astroturf (sp?). Super cheap and super easy to keep clean. You just use a broom and sweep off to clean. It was soft enough for my kids to play on it and kept all the dirt outside.

I don't know about painting it, but to get rid of the tracked in dirt get a good mat, and have people wipe their feet off before they come in.

How about putting down ceramic tile on it? That would look really cool.
