Is everyone on here gay bashing, foreign (no offense to our foreign friends) or over the age of 10? I am an attractive, intelligent lesbian who would love to read and converse with other intelligent gay people. I'm new to this Yahoo question thing, but I'm guessing this is not the direction to go for intelligent conversation. Not that I have any questions to ask....so I guess I should stop my bitching and complaining. Maybe it's just pms. Ok, I feel better now......

Hi, I'm one of those foreigners you were talking about, happily gay I might add. First off, welcome. Secondly, I know that it appears that there is no reasoned debate here, but it does exist. Sadly, many bashers like to throw their epithets even in the forums which are meant as serious discourse. Uncle Frunk says it best, when looking for diamonds, you need to haul a lot of crap out first. Please be patient and hopefully, given time, you will see there are benefits to be had.

I agree that lately there has been too many bashing posts regarding alternative lifestyles, people of color, people from other countries, etc.and I don't think it is your PMS. It could be this site's format that brings them out. But I've noticed that when school is out- teacher's conferences, school days off, and holidays the posts seem to become a little more aggressive and a little more inane.
I don't know if there are too many places on the web that you can have a real conversation- anonymity sometimes brings out the worst in us.

Nah, it can be fun to post a great big screw you on some of the other stupider posts, and you get 2 points from it, too!! but there are some good questions ot there.

I totally agree with you, there is a ton of BS that you have to sort through to find any real questions though. The key is to remember that the people asking the BS questions are one of the main reasons that we even have this section, ignorance is everywhere and it is important to try to fight it.
Most of the questions here are by trolls, but there are serious questions by people who really want help, and although I can't understand why someone would waste their time posting questions that aren't real I like knowing that I can help those who really do want help.

Well, I agree, but there are a lot of good questions here too. You will learn to weed out the idiots, and it is pretty easy to tell which questions are serious. I for one, have met A LOT of interesting people here, and we send messages back and forth outside of the questions. I would just keep your eyes out for the serious questions, and take a mental note of those people. For the most part, the serious ones will let you send e-mails to them, and that is the way to go here, in my opinion!

You must be new here. Unfortunately, we have trolls that come here to bash and defame us.
Occasionally a good question or a teen in trouble sneaks through. There are many of us here who can more than hold their own in an intelligent conversation, or debate, even.
(Plus we know how to spell and punctuate, as opposed to the trolls - congratulations to you as well!)
If we leave, we will leave this area to the tweens and trolls.
I, for one, am not ready to do that.

I agree with you i am not gay but i am friends with a lot of gay and lesbians and i don't agree with the bashing of them either.. its your choice who you want to be with no one elses... the straight make up their mind about who they want to be with and i think that it should be the same way with gays... the people that think other wise and are to involved with their self and the self image to care about other peoples feelings and that to me is very sad.. the old saying goes don't judge a book by the cover...

I totally agree. I am also an attractive mature lesbian...this site sometimes gets a little ridic...ive grown to not let the ignorance of others affect me....

I kinda agree,because i would kinda like to talk to other bisexuals/lesbians.....and get to know other ppl the same as me.....im knew to this being bi thing i havent date a girl yet but im in love w/a girl that likes me but isnt ready for a relationship....so im trying to get over her and meet knew ppl.....who are ready...for a relationship....
