I have California Poppy seeds and Morning Glory seeds that I want to plant. I live in Florida and the weather right now is cold then hot then cold again. When is the best time to plant the seeds? Also, what preparation do I do for the seeds? Soak first? Newbie planter here. Thanks in advance.

Texas here, and the seeds went in last week, usually the end of March is the last freeze date, but by then they should be established. Be sure to put the morning Glory's near something they can climb up. The area you are in should be ideal to have them planted now. Good luck and enjoy them.

For a start, there are a few things you should know. Time of planting, germination of seeds and kind of soil are the factors to be consider before you plant your new seeds.

In Arkansas, we're planting right now...usually the first of March.

Don't plant them until the ground is staying warmer. They will just lay there and won't grow until it gets warm anyway. No need to soak them.
