If you are looking for a truely "kid-proof" hotel you will have to stay away from the tourist areas, especially Disney. I would highly recommend you stay in Downtown Orlando which is mostly aimed towards the adult crowd. You will also get a chance to meet locals and get to see some of Orlando's arts and culture which you would never experience in the tourist areas. Here are my top recommendations of hotels in Downtown Orlando:
- Westin Grand Bohemian Hotel
http://www.grandbohemianhotel.com
- Embassy Suites Downtown Orlando Hotel

- Marriott Downtown Orlando Hotel

- Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Orlando

Hope that helps. Have Fun!

If by kid-proof, you mean you want to stay away from kids....then i would suggest staying at the Hard Rock. Its not really a kid friendly place. Once a month, they have a concert called Velvet Sessions in the lobby that brings in TONS of people. People are drunk partying etc... Granted, it is orlando and you are near the resorts so you may see a kid or two, but trust me, that would be your best bet if you are looking to stay clear of kids.

How about the Gaylord Palms Resort? There aren't a lot of kids in that place. It's actually very romantic.
