I suffer from this often. Or I used to.

Vitamin e oil is good, rub a bit in. Or jojoba oil.
These are the things I recommend the most.

Vaseline is good, more of a preventative though.

Prevention is better than cure. When this has healed use lip balm/oil everyday. Keep one in your bag, bathroom, kitchen. Put some on before bed.

In the meantime try not to smile too much as they could crack more, maybe use some medicated cream.

Coconut oil, its tasteless, its good for dry skin, and superb for cracked lips! i call it my magic cream, it does a hundred of injuries and cures many things!

And its quite inexpensive too. Can even buy it in the supermarket.

Lip Balm - contains beeswax which gives a barrier to the wind etc, but it does not cure cracked lips.

Also - Rub on some honey, it has a healing agent that will heal any cuts in the lips, that are painful!

Since I was little (and I'm 45 now) my grandmother always recommended Bag Balm. It comes in a green can and is specifically sold to keep cows' udders from getting chapped. I know it sounds weird if you've never used it, but it's becomming so common now that Wal-Mart, Target, and even Ulta sells it!

Or you can find their website and just order it. It's similar to Vaseline, but I've always found that it works a TON better -- even on that chapped skin my kids get right above their mouth from licking their lips. In the winter we go through a LOT of it!

Try vaseline as a first line of defence: it wont feed them but it'll protect them from drying out more. Then as they get better use a moisturising night cream like Ponds. No need to spend £££ on expensive moisturisers. Really make sure they are protected in the wind, rain etc outside. If it persists maybe its something else like ecxma and worth checking out with a GP.

You could be dehydrated. Start drinking at least 16 cups of water a day, your skin will improve. Also try Vasoline for your lips or Carmex.

Try Vaseline, for very dry lips.

As the lips struggle to repair there selves, and with the wind and rain, (its not like you can cover them with a hat like you can your head), but give it ago, leave it a few days, and keep it in your handbag to reply...
Good luck..
