I'm sure Java Jive means well but her answer is misinformed.

Having penis/vagina intercourse is not the only way a hymen can break. You could have already broken it while doing physical exercise such as riding a bike, playing sports, gymnastics, and horseback riding etc. It is also possible that a gyno exam has broken your hymen. Many virgins do not have hymens or have broken hymens because it is a very delicate membrane but it is nothing to worry about you are still a virgin as long as you haven't had sex.

Other things can break your hymen other than penetration by penis. It doesnt always hurt but check for spot bleeding. It can be also broken by rough masturbation, stretching and fooling around.

Yes, it could have. There are many ways in which a woman can break her hymen without actually having intercourse. Pelvic examinations, riding a bike, inserting a tampon, masturbation, etc. An absent hymen does not always indicate loss of virginity.

yeah, it could have. Lots of things can break it. Riding a bike, horseback riding, physical or strenuous sports or even using a tampon. But, that doesn't mean you lost your virginity. Only when you have sex will you no longer be a virgin.

No. Gyn exams do not break your hymen.

no, only a penis can break it (or foreign object but that would really really hurt). real way to check is to look in a mirror
