I work in a not so clean apartment complex, during my employment I have seen people live in others filth,by that I mean constant sewage leaks and no replacement of carpet or lino.I personally have seen sewage ooooz out from underneith the lino...one hallway was contanimated and all they did was spray deoderizer...I hope there won't be any babies planning on licking the floors. The molds that they find are just painted over so if you live there don't plan on scratching the paint. Should this be a concerne I should bring up with housing athourity...or is this legal and I just don't know it.

I guess I wasn't completely clear about the residents situation...yes there are some people who can move on their own at a drop of a dime however the rest are on section 8 which normally can take a year to get another place, financially they are stuck, how do I know? I have spoke with them.

If this place accepts Section 8, then they need to pass certain housing guidelines, by the government. The guidelines also include safe and sanitary living conditions.
The best way to get the attention focused back to where it is needed is to have the local building inspector to take a lot and make notes. If the place is found unlivable, the building inspector and housing inspector through Section 8 should to be notified and the landlord will be forced to clean up their act.
If things are how you have describe them, yes it is against the law to have people live in sewage and other unlivable conditions. The individuals complaining MUST keep everything documented and in writing. They could sue the landlord. Take pictures as well. The building inspector will be someone who can help advocate with you and the tenants.

I would definitely call the housing authority about this. The landlord knows all about this and is doing nothing to fix it so I wouldn't go to him. I am sure he will fire you for opening your mouth. It is not legal for sewage to be coming out from under the tile, it is a health hazard for the people living there and I would think for the people such as yourself who are cleaning there too. Don't wait any longer, call the housing authority and have them come out and see what these conditions are like. If you want to be anonymous tell them you don't want to give your name. But don't stand by and do nothing.

I don't know the laws where you live but I'm pretty sure that someone needs to report something. And if the Housing Authority doesn't do anything, I would consider contacting a local news source to see if they would run a story.

There is a simple rule that applies.
If the tenants don't like it, they can move out.
It's unfortunate - but it's a reality. Slumlords will do (and spend) the absolute bare minimum to keep their tenements 'liveable'.
The only reason they can get away with it, is that tenants are willing to keep giving them money.

First, take a bunch of pictures. When you think you took too many, take a lot more. Make sure you ID each picture and where it's at. Take these pictures to the health dept. and see what they have to say.

Report this problem. This is not sanitary and many people are at risk at contracting a disease or strain of staph that cannot be easily treated. Wait no longer......call today!

i would not want to live in that condition and if someone lives there that is in a bad financial spot and cannot move at this time, then you should report this as soon as you can....like, tomorrow!!!!!
