my ex is behind on child support how do i find out if he filed his taxes?

There should be a lien by the Child Support authority of your State on his tax return(s). Some are better than others. If you have his social security number pass it along to the CS agency.

You can't find out if he filed his taxes, or if he has a refund coming. But ask whatever local agency handles child support in your area to file the proper paperwork to have his refund, if he has one, taken for the overdue support.

If your child support is court ordered and your ex was entitled to a refund, the state will automatically intercept his refund and give it to you. You don't have to do anything about it. I don't really know if there is a way to find out if he filed though. Sorry. Did you try asking him?

you cant. you can only find out if they intercept it.

but before you do that, you have to call your caseworker and find out if your case had been submitted for 'tax refund intercept' (state and federal). also ask if the amount has been reported on his credit reports yet.

request an enforcement hearing (of him not paying). they will add a small amount to the current amount due. if they do nothing about it, pull rank and put some heat on the case.

also, if your caseworker isnt on the ball, pull rank. write your states Attorney General and your states Regional FEDERAL Child Support Office.

I don't know what state you live in but The state will take it from him. Theres no way he can get around it unless your lawyer and your child support system sucks to high heaven.
