i just want someone around my own age and lifestyle to be friends with. doesn't matter whether male or female and no i'm not looking for romance or sex.

Try finding out activities you can do in your area that you're able to do and enjoy doing, and you will know there are people there around you age. You are bound to find friends that way. When you're there, being happy will make them happy and they will want to come up to you. Or be outgoing and introduce yourself to them. Then go from there, and hang outside the activty.
I was going to suggest joining the red hat society, since that is a great way to shop and hang out (and have fun, from what I see), but you're too young. Sorry!
