Please don't portray the Twins as sad-sack losers in the vein of the Cubs and, until '04, the Red Sox. The Twins have won, what, three pennants in their 40+ years and two titles. In fact, in the period from 1983 through the present, only 4 teams have won more than one World Series title -- the Yankees, Blue Jays, Marlins (the Marlins?!?!?!?) and the Twins.

Plus, other than the lull after the Puckett/Gaetti/Hrbek group the Twins have been a remarkably consistent, entertaining and well-run team. They've been in the play-offs each of the past 5 or 6 years, and at or near the top of a tough division annually.

You're lucky, feller.

They do not spend enough money to keep all the guys that have the potential to put the Twins in the series. The Twins definitely have some stud young guys, so maybe they could surprise people. The AL Central is a tough division, however.

They have a lot better chance this year than Detroit, who cannot get there since no team in the 21st century has gone to the World Series after losing the World Series the year before.

I'm sick of hearing people complaining about their teams not being in the series. At least your team has been in the world series in the past fifteen years, when the I can name about ten teams who haven't been their in the past twenty.
To answer your question they will in a couple years when Liriano's back he's the key to their success

They did, remember when they beat Atlanta?

My predictions are that your Twins make it to the world series, but lose to the Mets in 6 games.

I think they will get to the world series in 2 or 3 years. they have a promising line-up, and a great rotation when healthy.

I think they have a chance.
They have Santana [Cy Young], Mauer [Batting Champ], and Morneau [MVP], and this trio will carry them far. I don't know about the series, but I feel good about the pennant. They've gotten a confidence booster after this last season, so I think they can definetly go for it this year!

They're getting there, but Tigers and Sox have good teams. It'll be hard to make the playoffs like last year, but they definitely have a shot

maybe next year or whenever Liriano gets back and is healthy. If they still have Santana and Liriano they can be tough. Especially with the young guys if they keep 'em. Mauer, Morneau, etc...
