i only want to file state tax return with out doing the fedreal and i cant find a web site that does just state taxa can any one help me and let me know what site i can go to that just does state returns?

If you didn't make enough to have to file federal, why let them keep your money? Just go to the local library or post office and look for state forms. If you file via the internet, federal will want to know why you didn't file.

What you are wanting to do is impossible. The state income tax returns are all tied to the federal tax return. When the state offices receive your tax return how they check it is to check the irs files on the return you have filed. Sorry that is the way it is set up.

go to www.irs.gov and see the state tax comm links you cannot file one and not the other. if you make enough you m ust file in both places. the choice is not yours to make. if you do not you then get fines and late fees which are quite high.
