As a whole, the American public would rather have children watching violent entertainment than sexualy oriented entertainment.
I think I'd rather have my kids watching some heavy petting then some guys brains getting splattered across a wall with a 12 gauge.

That is a tough one but I think the sexual stuff on normal tv is what I would prefer. Violence is just getting to much and I believe is putting things in the childrens minds especially when they see people on tv not getting into a lot of trouble for it.

I am 62 years old. As a child I watched cowboys and Indians killing each other. It was fiction. Today they make films about violence which happens everyday. Sex is a pleasant experience and for the victim violence is not. The Americans, although they probably won't admit it, are probably the most prudish people in the world but street crime in certain parts is reputedly excessive. That just about sums it up.

cause brain splatter questions from kids can be answered as its tv, its all fake etc.....
and sex oriented questions make parents nervous, sexual situations are not as easily answered
death and gore talk is an easier conversation topic
than sex and heavy petting
it shouldn't be but society keeps sex hidden, private, not talked about, learned from friends and stuff found in the closet of momand dad or older siblings. or until parents realize they c ant avoid the sex talk any longer

A child should never be subjected to one or the other. If that was the only options I'd cut the cord on the tv and grab a book.

I don't think I would rather have either one theyare both to strong for children I try everyday to find ways to avoid things in the matter because they are both wrong and enfluentual because I don't like either one.

in my opinion, you can't really stop your children from watching neither of those things because even though it's not appropriate to watch it but your kids can understand some of the situation in real life today.
