on this ( http://www.soyousa.com/products/proddesc.php?t=d&id=291 ) mobo, will this ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=020&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=300088129003&rd=1&rd=1 ) be ok? im still unclear in understanding why it says '12v only!' on my motherboard tech sheet. why does it say 12v only?

It states 12V only because it needs 12V across the board as its base voltage. There are a few but not many legacy systems out there that may still be running at different voltages. From the pictures it looks like that MB will require the 20+4 that is offered in the power supply (standard today) so that supply from eBay should work.

The spec looks okay, my only query is what is your main use for this PC?

If its gameplay with a monster graphics card, you may have trouble. Look for a power supply that has a tru power rating. This might only be 350 or 400 watts but will perform better than a cheap 550 watt PSU.

Serious gamers will pay £100, or there abouts, for a decent reliable PSU.

i see this board is a socket 478 for pentium 4, this is quite an old set up as most computers now use a socket 775 for the pentium cpu, something to keep in mind

you can say jut 350 WATS of power supply for the p-4 machine with a and four ping extra connect er that all .Generally all p-4 smps are same for all the machines
