Well this is a very iffy issue in India. It really all depends on who you ask this question... I think the young people of today's generation would strongly disagree with such a vivid separation between the castes. On the other hand, asking this to an elderly person, they would look at you and wonder how you dare to ask such a question! But personally, social integration would remove so much grief between current young couples who are in love but are prohibited to marry because of how high on the social ladder they are. Unfortunately, it's quite sad to see that this is how so many people lived for so many years. When was bringing people together ever a bad thing? If people are brought together and the castes removed, then the world could be a better place. Parents would not have to pretend that they have no heart and consistently refuse to allow their son to marry this wonderful girl only because she is from a different caste. What is gained by keeping people within their prospective castes?

The fundamental reason behind Social Integration was to handle and control the people with ease. Don't you think today it is more needed in such a critical period when every thing is going out of control slipping from our hands? Aren't our ancestors wisely thought an appropriate and defendable arrangement for people?
