Either 1 of 2 things is happening--you DIDN'T actually ovulate when you think you did or you have a corpus luteum cyst.

It maybe because your body doesn't make the HGC hormon that the at home tests are looking for in high enough amounts for it to pick up that you are in fact pregnant. The longer you wait to take the test the higher levels of the hormon will be made and there for a better chance of getting the positive on the test. IF it still comes out negitive or because you are so impatient why not go to the hospital and have them give you a blood test that will say for sure right now. Good Luck.

Well I sure can't tell you if your pregnant or not, as there are many factors that can affect your cycle. I do want to add that I did get a very, very light positive, on my first pregnancy test. It was at about 6 weeks pregnant. So if I would have tested any sooner, I might not have seen anything. My daughter was born 2 days late and 9 lbs.

Some women just don't have enough pregnancy hormone in their urine to register a positive result - if still not getting a positive then do as doctor says and wait 1 more week and try again - if still no period and negative then you're probably not pregnant, just a goofy period or an off cycle.

okay here's what happend to me with my first pregnancy!!! I took a test and it said negative. So I didn't worry about it and proceeded with my daily activities for 2 weeks. Well all of a sudden one night I started running a fever, throwing up, diarrhea, migraine...the works. So I went to the e.r thinking I had food poisoning. Well, since my period was late it was procedure to do a pregnancy test. They took some blood (only b/c I couldn't pee at the time) and 20 mins later the doctor told me that it wasn't food poisoning!!!! But I was 6 1/2 weeks pregnant!!! So I had told him that I failed a home test 2 weeks prior and he told me that since it was my first pregnancy the hormone level might not have been high enough to detect!!!! so you might be pregnant!!!

The test picks up pregnancy hormones in your urine. Early in pregnancy, the hormones aren't as strong as they will be later--even a few days can make a difference. That's why your doctor suggested waiting. Sore breasts were always my first symptom or pregnancy, but they can also be a sign of your period coming.

i say listen to ur doctor and wait to take another test in a week or so then if it does come up negative then take a blood test they are the most accurate. it could be too early for a preg test to come up positive. try to stay calm and relaxed.

I don't have the answers, but I have a sister-in-law who never tested positive with any of her 4 children until the 3rd or 4th month!

most tests are designed if you are more an a week late. it goes by when was your last period. and when it is expected to come. Also if your under a lot of stress sometime you won't even get your period. It has happened to me.
