I lift weights and have put on alot of muscle in my trap region within this past year. Since I've put on the mass I've been getting stiffness in my lower and mid traps. I'm wondering if this is a growth pain or something else. I don't feel as if I've injured the region, but when I bend over to stretch…the erector muscles in my mid back loosen and pop (giving me a blood rush to the head). I've had massages and chiropractic care but haven't obtained satisfactory results. Has anyone else had this and if so does it go away after awhile?

you could be working it too hard. Another thing is it might be an early physical sign of anxiety or depression

Definite recommend seeing a Chiropractor who can help with the pain and stiffness, muscle spasms, and educate you in proper lift techniques without using meds which would adversely affect you if you are competing....
