Yes I do, I just don't think that it is as many people as identify as one or the other.
However people get stuck on labels and we don't have enough of them to categorize the 8 billion souls who live here.

The answer depends on how one defines straight and gay. Straight ordinarily means preference for the opposite sex, but not at the same time meaning complete distaste for the same sex.
So in that sense someone can be purely straight (or gay as the case may be) without requiring that the person has complete abhorrence for sex with the same gender. And if they do have complete distaste for that, one can argue that it's a matter of social conditioning rather than innate disgust.
The bottom line appears to be that in the physical sense, no-one is completely one way, but in the cultural or emotional sense, they could well be exclusively straight or gay.

I think that it is a spectrum, or pendulum as you say. It's more than just wanted to hop into bed with someone. For instance, a straight man could look at another man and think he is attractive. Does that mean he wants to have sex with him? No. Does this make him gay? No. But it is a level of physical attraction, albeit, a low one.
If a person were to be strictly straight, they wouldn't even have that ability to look at someone of the same sex and say s/he is attractive. The same is true for gays/lesbians.
In short, I agree with your second theory.

Sexuality is a rainbow of a billion different colours. I believe some people are purely straight and some purely gay, but I think a lot more fall between.

examine the 'Kinsey document on Human Sexuality.' that provides the 'statistical prevalence' of all human sexuality as 10% completely gay, 10% completely right now, and 80% as 'bisexual' starting from one tiny concept or 'sexual admiration' in route of the 'opposite end' to 'genuine bi-sexual' because the ten% contained in the 'middle.' even as i became in college, I did study on animals and their sexuality to make certain if there became any correlation' ... by technique of 'moves' quite than 'words' inspite of the truth that, and each and each variety of animal my human beings 'watched' for over a year in good structure the Kinsey information precisely. Animals could properly be 'gay' too ... contained in the exact same probabilities as measured by technique of 'journey' because 'psychological' issues won't be able to be measured in animals. So, my answer for your question, is certain, some are 'particularly right now' and some are 'particularly gay' (10% of each on both end of the attitude) yet maximum individuals are to at least one volume or the different 'bisexual.' that would not advise we've sex with an identical or opposite sex, yet that we 'imagine' about sex with both genders a minimum of, or dream about them. besides the undeniable fact that it truly is largely the ten% contained in the technique the spectrum that are 'particularly bisexual.' the global is a marvelous position, finished of marvelous human beings of all kinds, so some distance as sexuality is going, so some distance as politics flow, so some distance as faith is going. to assert something else is to be 'incorrect' circuitously, and have self belief it or no longer, even that could be placed on a percentage scale with 10% who continuously tell the reality and 10% who continuously lie. i'm no longer lieing.

I believe there is a pendulum. Where we are located on that pendulum determines our sexual feelings towards either sex.

I think there could be almost as many different "labels" as there are people.
That being said, I couldn't imagine being anything other than 100% lesbian. I have not one teeny, tiny bit of interest in men as potential affection/sex/whatever partners. They're good friends, but that's it.
