After the U.S. defeated Mexico they discussed taking over the entire country, not just New Mexico, Arizona, and California. The congress decided they did not want it. A wall is not going to work, and immigration reform will not work either without the support of the Mexican government.

I'm good with how that war worked out for us. I see no reason to want anything south of the RIO, so a nice tall fence or wall will work.

Is there something to plunder in Mexico, Can we get Oil there or can we experiment some of our new untried explosives over there. or any such excuse? if nothing else we can just do it to get our mind off the internal mess-up created in the last few years...

I don't know. What would you say if the Mexican government decided to invade the US to overthrow our corrupt government? If you wouldn't like it in reverse, then maybe it isn't such a good idea.
