colic is a term that most doctor use when they are overly sure what is wrong. But it generally means a build up of acid in the stomach. Yes breastfed babies can get this when they have a allergy to sometime that you have eaten that doesn't agree with them. i was a breastfed baby and had colic only because i had an allergy towards cows milk, cheese.

My daughter was breastfed and had terrible colic. She would scream inconsolably for long periods and this can be very distressing and exhausting to a new mum. I tried colic drops and gripe water. Gripe water worked better than colic drops but I found the best thing was to lay her on her tummy over my lap and gently rub her back and sides. This would release the trapped wind and the warmth of your body would help sooth the pain. The good thing to remember is that it doesn't last forever.

there has been some good suggestions and not so good suggestions. Colic is merely a sequence of indicators led to with the help of a few style of abdomen/intestine discomfort. it may ensue for oh such lots of motives yet lots of the time you will by no potential recognize why. you would recognize colic once you spot it yet there may be very small first indicators including merely no longer ending a meal or slightly swifter respiration. understanding your horse and your horse's regular habit, temperature, and respiratory are great the right thank you to be arranged. by no potential hesitate to call the vet. they might somewhat you call with slightly gasoline colic that is going away previously they get there than to attend and waste useful time in a extreme case. there's a drug talked approximately as buscopan it could make a extensive difference in scuffling with the spasms linked with colic.

My sons pediatrician just told me, that no one really knows, what causes colic - it might be immaturity of baby's digestive system. He said that colic means that baby is crying more than 4 hours a day at least 4 times a week, although he is fed, changed and held and that it usually occurs in the evening or night.

Excess wind that gets trapped!! Medics say that breastfed babies are less likely to get wind. There are plenty of things available now to reduce colic though. My daughter was bottlefed, as she refused the breast, and we used Tommee Tippee anti-colic bottles as soon as she showed the signs of colic and they worked brilliantly.

It is very common in babies, abdominal gas may contribute to colic, if you are breast feeding try and continue as changing to botttle feeding can sometimes make the colic worse. It may be worth trying "colic drops" or "gripe water", which are available without a prescription. If you are at all worried contact your gp incase there is an underlaying problem. Only one of mine suffered with colic, it can be very stressful.

It is a medical condition, aka trapped wind! The doc's use it for EVERY baby, so be careful, cos if your baby is crying constantly and you think something is wrong, you'll find it hard to convince them it's anything other than colic!

Yes it is a medical condition, usually called trapped wind, extremely painful!! Newborn babies digestive systems are having to cope with food and the digestion process. Bottlefed babies apparently suffer more with this phenomenon due to sucking in more air, however I breastfed my little boy and he suffered with until he was four months old.
