I have a Genie Pro screw drive garage door opener. I had my vehicle stolen a while back and lost the remote. Is there any way I can replace the remote? If so, how do I get it to work with my existing garage door opener?

You can replace the opener, and reprogram the code. A Genie dealer will sell you the remote and if you do not have the instructions they will tell you how to reprogram the opener code. You can not leave the opener code the same. You also need to re-key the doors to your house if any keys were in the car. They know where you live and have means to gain entry into your house. Do it now.

I would replace the whole remote receiver and transmitters. The thief now has the key to your garage. Can be purchased at any home improvement store. Easy to hook up, power & 2 wires connected to the door opener.

Go to any department store or hardware store and they'll have a section where they sell garage door openers. It's helpful to know the model number of your opener or at least the approximate age. Someone in the department will be able to tell you which one will work for you. Try Home Depot, Lowe's or an Ace Hardware, any of them will be very helpful, they all sell openers.

Sears sell universal remotes and you can change your existing program yourself. It takes about 5 minutes.
