I can remember back to when I was 2 or 3 years old and my mother and I were feeding the ducks/geese in the springtime near a body of water. The memory is fuzzy and the thing that stands out in it are the geese and the dandelions all over. Considering I am almost 31 years old, I would say this was going back far in my memory bank. I am now a mother of three little girls ages 5, 4, and 3. Sometimes I wonder what they will one day remember about their childhoods.

My earliest memory is sitting in front of the television watching a space capsule splashing down from one of the Apollo missions. I also remember the feeling that I had seen this before so I certainly don't think it was one of the first ones. This may explain why I am so bitterly disappointed as an adult that the Space Program fizzled so badly. I was promised flying cars. Where are the flying cars?

My very first memory is watching the concrete below my stroller as my sister pushed me down the street, at nearly age 2. I also remember looking at the trees near the curb and how big they were with huge leaves. This was in West Philadelphia in the late 1950s.

I was in diapers and had crawled into the kitchen in the evening . I was intently looking at ants on the floor and discovered they were eating, so I licked the floor to discover it was SWEET! When my Father came in the kitchen, he yelled to my Mom that I had eaten ANT POISEN! My parents were in a panic, caliing Dr. Kuzera , who advised them to give me warm milk and an egg to make me vomit. It was horrible! Then, while I was being put to bed my Father was spanking me with the TV guide to "STAY IN BED" and I remember looking backward at the comics on the back page.

I grew up with a photographic memory!

I only remember remembering it, so I'm closed to its reference, it may actually be an illusion of dreams and photo albums. I can't tell if it's real, even though it seems subjective, my act of remembering constructs this narrative , and re-defines categories that weren't mine at the time. The memory is always of myself trying to think what it would be like if I were to do something again.

Birthday pictorial - 1 year old. Parents were deciding how to take a picture of the cake and myself together. They finally decided to the left side of the cake. Looking at the picture, it's a wide-eyed child.

I am told I was about 18 months. I remember lying in my crib looking up, seeing the crib bars, my blue bunny jumper pj's on, and seeing my mother with her 1960's big hairdo, sitting near my dresser by the nightlight, waiting for me to fall asleep.
