Billie Jean is a very disputed song. The true meaning of the lyrics are best told by Jackson himself, from an interview for VH1 a while back. The question was, "Does the real Billie Jean know about the song and if she did what was her reaction?" and Jackson replied, "There is a girl named Billie Jean, but it's not about that Billie Jean. Billie Jean is kinda anonymous. It represents a lot of girls who used to - they used to call them groupies in the '60s - they would hang around backstage doors and any band that would come to town they would have a relationship with. And I think I wrote this out of experience with my brothers when I was little. There were a lot of Billie Jeans out there. Every girl claimed that their son was related to my brothers."

Some girl, (not named Billie Jean), insisted that she had a child by Micheal Jackson early in his career prior to his first nose job or skin lightening. She was laughed out of court and never taken seriously by anyone. Michael wrote a song about her, you can almost hear him giggling at one point in the recording, even he thinks its ludicrous.

He's not telling her any story. He's telling the people listening to him that Billie Jean is not his lover and he is not the father of her child. Billie Jean says that he is the one, but he disputes her claim.

Billie Jean claims she had an affair with him and now years later comes to him saying her son is his. In the song he explains how he got involved with Billie Jean but the kid isn't his " but the kid is not my son"
