As the title suggests, I have forgotten how to sit down. It's been 20 days since I last sat in a chair. For some reason I can't make my legs bend when I try. I have no problem walking or running, but I do have some trouble getting into bed. I usually run and jump to get in, and occasionally I miss. The hardest part is getting out of bed. I'm forced to roll out and fall on the hardwood floor. Once I gave myself a concussion when I hit my head on the nightstand. Also, as you may imagine this problem hinders me from using the latrine. For the past 20 days I been using a grocery bag to relieve myself. I have successfully made an enemy out of my garbage man. Every Tuesday he bangs on my door to ask me "What if I went to your workplace and *expletive* on your desk!" You may think I'm mentally handicapped, but I beg you any answers you may provide will help. Thank you.

Try some leg bending exercises and gradually try to lower yourself into a chair. You may find yourself sitting down like a pregnant woman (knees bent and slowly bending hips) for a few days. If it continues this way, you might want to consult your doctor.

Have you had any injury happen to you, like with your adomen muscles?..I know I had to learn to walk, talk, eat, ect..from a car accident years ago, staying in a coma 3 months and had and still have surgeries on my adomen, leaving me with just mesh protecting my internal organs now, but, I had to learn to walk, and the only time I can run, is if it's an emergency and I don't think about it, like my dog running out in the busy highway. It sounds to me like you may have a neurological problem, or either your brain for some reason isn't connecting with your legs...an you stand up if you don't think about it?.. also, why don't you get a latrine built high up enough for you...the going into bed part I know that feeling, because having no stomach muscles which basically any activity you do has to do with your stomach muscles, but I would have to roll up or such, and was at rehab a while back and they told me to start rolling over and putting my leg one at a time over to get up, which helped me so much, and was so much less painful for me. I don't know your age or anything, but, if you havn't gone to a dr. which sounds to me like you need a specialist, you need to go, and if you have and they can't find anything, you need to maybe seek counseling, because this maybe something that happened you don't remember triggering you not to be able to stand...either way, you need to go to a dr. and rehab, good luck.

right here is what you do, do no longer pay attention to different persons have confidence me i'm an expert at this so pay attention to ME: Goto the lavatory... submit the lavatory seats.. get onto your knees so as which you're kneeling down infront of the lavatory with your face.. dealing with in the direction of it. Then.. dunk your head in there and blow bubbles into the water. THen pull your head (incase you have forgotten you decide on oxygen to stay and there is none in a rest room bowl packed with water so do no longer ignore to tug OUT and don't BREATHE mutually as YOUR HEAD IS interior the lavatory BOWL) when you have pulled out.. drain the water out of your face and hair right into a bowl.. then drink it. :)

I am SO glad that you've posted this. My fiance has had the same trouble, but I thought he was just making it up to get out of doing housework! You can imagine my surprise when he too started using grocer bags to relieve himself in. We haven't found a specialist yet, but I started taping boards to the backs of his legs so that if he forces himself, he can do a squat.

Try bending at your hips and use your arms to lift yourself on the toilet.or spread your legs over the toliet.I woul seek medical attention to check why your knees don,t bend.As far as geting out of bed have someone inslall grab hoops above your bed and that way you can lift yourself in and out of bed with pullups.

Sounds like a load of crap to me.

If you are serious and you haven't seen a Dr. yet, you are in need of a phsychiatrist, too.

Go to the ER. NOW!
