I think it means when something that does not have a visual is shown through a picture or art of some kind. For instance, those caricatures of the Muslim Prophet Muhammad were "depicting" him as a human. In their religion he isn't supposed to have any form, so that's why it was in the news and everything... Anyway that's a depiction.

the way i see it is to represent by picture or in words . i think that leaves it open to ones own perspective if you ilistrate to make a picture & words are always from own interpitation of the subject as we see it . i see in abstract & the world is a cartoon to me & that is how i draw & scupplt it (example) . hope my my vision helps you think more openly about depicting images or words , we all see it differently . tp. mullin
