How do you know when you are being misled by society ?

This question is very odd, but also very thought provoking. I get this feeling of being "misled" by society when I notice things around me that don't match up with the way I feel about things, like hearing people talk about something a certain way or an advertisement that I feel is just plain exploitative. Its not so much the idea of me being misled as feeling disappointed at those around me who seem misled.

What a good question. I've felt misled about a LOT of things. Religion, sexuality, eating animals. Lot's of stuff. Maybe the basis for misleading or being misled is fear. So if you are following what society says cuz of fear (or, maybe you are trying to coerce someone cuz of your fear) then there is some misleading going on-

Whenever things happen that are out of the "norm" is usually a pretty good indicator.

Not that everything is necessarily wrong or bad, but the gut feeling one gets from things can be a pretty reliable gauge.

Every one of us have to make decisions about things every single day of our lives, and what we decide many times is guided by what we perceive to be the proper response. And that response is based on what we know society accepts generally.

just look around, listen to the politicians as to
what they say and what they really mean,
society is a place to divide and conquer the masses
with tricky metaphors and nonsense with rhetoric
and lies, this was suppose to be a government
for the people by the people, what a lie ~
