Because there is no such thing as "anonymous" on the computer anymore. Even something as simple as leaving contact info with yahoo could result in identity theft or any number of other issues.
Also, most people on here just like to give wise *** comments, and don't want the questioner to able to call them on their statements. It can also go the other way, you may give a decent answer, but want to prevent nitwits who sit around looking for people to attack to be able to contact you with nonsensical arguements just because they don't like what you said.

That's part of the problem. The anonymity of this site leaves one wide open for stalker, threat type e-mails from people who don't agree with your opinion.
I got enough of those, because I am of an unpopular faith, to make me eventually discontinue contact from others.
It's a shame, but that's the way it's got to be...

Well, I recently opened up my email for responses and so far, I've gotten two unsolicited flirtations (I'm married, thanks) and one doofus telling me how much better men are than women and I ought to know my place. I'm starting to be sorry.
I may close that option again in a week or so if that's all I'm going to get. No one seems to be actually interested in my opinion, it's all about me being a woman, and how they feel about that.

I don't want to contact anyone on the internet really.
If they want to contact me, that's great, they can post comments etc to me through here, if I really want to talk to someone, I eventually just ask for a number or an email addy.
oh and also I don't want your h3rpes. I heard they burnses.

It's like leaving your phone number listed. The majority of the callers are polite and decent human beings, but there will always be a few creepies that make it worth it to remain unlisted.

Because too many people would send you hateful garbage. For every one who's nice, there's 10 who are ready to send you nasty stuff. That pretty much sums it up sweet pea!

Well, for me, I don't want to be bothered, it's enough that I have given my thoughts or answers. God bless you for your kind and thoughtful thinking to others.
