He got more into the Buddhist thing and had wanted to retire. But his parnter, Nasso, sued him and basicaly forced him to continue to act.
BTW - It was really Nasso that was involved with the mob. It was more that the mob and Nasso were trying to strong arm Seagal into doing the movies. Link discussing it is below.

He was never a very good actor and most of his movies were not very good. They probably didn't make money at the box office after the first few. That's only my opinion.

He was never a great actor and he really went down hill when it came out that he was involved with the Gotti crime family ( I think it was the Gotti's ). If his movies were in theatres he's probably loose money aka Madonna's disaster Swept Away

All of his movies should've been straight to dvd...........and then buried deep w/in the Earth's core. Terrible actor.
