I have separation anxiety; I don't like being away from home for too long. It probably stems from the fact that in my childhood, there was abuse and violence by my parents. I didn't feel secure enough to go out into the world.

I put little Jingle Bells on my doors in the bedroom and on the closet door. I am afraid of what might be in the closet. When I go to bed now, as an adult, before I even get into bed, I look under the bed and I close the closet door and the door to the room. That way, if anything tries to come out of the closet or into the room I will hear the bells tinkling.
Where does this stem from??? Try having 5 older brothers that loved to terrify me through the night. LoL.

Still fearful of a man that wears a belt, as my dad used to beat us with one on the back of bare legs.

Of course. I think everyone does. I hate clowns. Why? When I was four my parents thought it would be a gas to hire a clown. He wouldn't leave me alone. He kept getting in my face. I started crying and they had to pay the guy to leave. I still can't stand the sight of a clown to this day.
