I was on depo for about 5 years. I decided to give my body a break from hormones, so I stopped taking the depo. A year later I went to my gynecologist because my period hadn't started back up again. I was told that it's a common side effect and that I needed to take birth control pills for a while to jump start my period, to tell my body to start producing the correct hormones at the correct times again.

I would suggest talking to your doctor. You might have to put trying to get pregnant on hold for a couple months until your body's producing the right hormones again. But only your doctor can really advise you on what to do.

Good luck! =)
