In boxing terms, "pound-for-pound", yes ..I think they probably were. They achieved remarkable sucess and regularly beat the likes of Man. Utd, Liverpool, and all the big clubs. Plus, they stayed at the top level for 13 years with practically no money at all.

They always got slagged off for just playing long-ball football, but the so-called better teams were never able to cope with it. They just played to their own strengths, and it worked for them. And they never had the cash to go and buy clever players.

Its a real scandal what's happened since to that club, and the FA should be shot for allowing the chairman to "franchise" them. I dont feel that Milton Keynes have any connection to the old Wimbledon at all, they are really just a brand new club who the FA allowed to buy the League place of an existing one.

But its good to see the fans of the old Wimbledon keeping the faith with their "fans club" AFC Wimbledon, and maybe soon they''ll be back in the League, because they are doing pretty well..

Yea well Beasant was the 1st goalkeeper to save an FA cup penalty, and i believed he played for Wimbledon. Remember Vinny Jones lol :)

Other than that they did not play good football.

you must be easily frightened they played the long ball game kick it up field and see who gets there first boring to watch boring to play against

Yeah aint it crap that its unliekly that will ever happen again.I thought colchester mite have dun it this season, but they wouldnt ov stayed there

Definitely not!... They were a good team,yes.....but not that good!
They were largely overrated,in my opinion.
