okay so alot of you think that it should be legal? there are many options instead of assisted suicide. first of alot of medicines and special doctors can help more than half of the conditions leading to P.A.S. in many cases it is a moral issue. i know you are not supposed to use the Bible in this debate (i go to a christian school, but you aren't supposed to turn it into a spiritual debate) but murder is a sin! and that includes suicide, abortion, and killling someone. so exculding bibilical views than if people want to die, do it yourselves! having a pysician kill you is just plain stupid! i know you could use the people can't do it but out of 33 people the assisted suicide only worked on 21 people! the docs cant even do it right!!!!! and you know why, it's because it's against what God says. God takes you on His time, not yours!

No, that is murder too even if the person wanted to die. In the Bible, suicide is wrong. We need to think by the book. If that's not allowed in your school, than just point out that it is still murder and the person helping must be insane and need help if can actually help kill a person. That's not normal to want to see a person wanting to die!

I think in some cases- yes! I f the individual's quality of life can not be improved and/or they are suffering from a terminal illness I think it is a good solution. THink: If you were unhappy everyday of your life, you were a quadropalegic, had no conntrol of your major functions (eating, urination, etc) and no visit from your family- what is your purpose on this earth? I think people have the right to chose their fate. And wouldnt it make you angry if another individual, with use of all her major body functions and in perfect health told you that you DIDNT have the right to choose your own fate. SHE doesnt understand! I totally agree with assisted suicide from a physician because only a physicial can assess whether or not the condition will improve or whether the quality of life will get better

I used to work in a nursing home and delt with this alot. THere was this 82 year old man named Irving who was permenanty stuck in somewhat of a fetal position because his leg and arm muscles atrofied and could no longer use them. He refused to eat and was forced to be on a feeding tube and lost all funtion of his bladder and bowels. He was in a great deal of pain from all the bed soars he aquired while laying in his bed and thereaputic reclining chair all day long. Every night when I came into his room to rotate him or change him, he always used to mumble, "Please, please, let me die!". It broke my heart. People do not make you too comfortable in a nursing home and this nursing home for not famous for providing "excellent care". All he wanted to do is die and not suffer through this poor quality of life he was experiencing. In cases like this- yes- assisted suicide is acceptable. How can you force an 82 year old man to live years in a condition like this! It is inhumane.

Assisted suicide falls under the same category as active euthanasia...also illegal. You need to do as much research for both sides as possible before making your decision, and debating it. The discussion calls for alot more than simple opinion...and religion has NO PLACE in the argument.

Assisted suicide also known as murder should NEVER be legal. If someone wants to die than they need help or they can just do it themselves, by hiring someone to do it for them is a red flag to me that they kinda want to die, but if left soly up to them they would back out, hence having someone do it for them that is only in it for the money. If someone hires someone to kill them than it's obvious that they want to live deep inside they just don't know what else to do.

So by saying your for illegalizing of assisted suicide your saying that your a sadist, right. Because your for human torture and suffering. Try volunteering in a nursing home or hospital and work with these patients before you decide which side of the aisle your on.

Once you see a person living in extreme pain (and they wish to die) - then I see nothing wrong with the assisted suicide as long as it is performed by a licensed physician.

Yes, it should be legal.

How would you feel about assisted suicide if you were terminally ill and in excruciating pain, with no quality of life left????

You would want to end your life right?

There is nothing wrong with assisted suicide.

Killing oneself or others is a sin. It should be avoided at any cost. Whatever comes accept it as the will of God, as a measure in return of your karma.
