If you enter pandora.com, that leads you to an online music player. You can create several different stations by entering an artist you really like. They analyze the music, and let you listen to similar music. You can't download from this site, but you can get ideas.
Note: I believe Pandora requires a broadband internet connection.

www.pandora.com is good for this. It lets you create your own "radio station" and will play songs similar to bands you like. You can make it "smarter" by giving thumbs-up or thumbs-down to each song it plays, if you want to. It streams full songs in high quality.
