or question their educational background? Why can't I just ask a question which violates no community standards and which invite legitimate intelligent answers, withOUT being subjected to insults?

I spoke of (the word)
"ignorant" as showing lack of knowledge or training............ but ONLY if the shoe fits. Hopefully it does not fit you.
"puerile" means childish, hardly name-calling. and once again, if the shoe fits...all right?

They are the same ones that report violations when they don't like an answer or a question. I think Everything should stay up posted. If you don't like what is written, DON"T return to it.
I also agree with the rest of what you said. What does someones education have to do with it?

I joined in Feb of this year. I've rarely found any questions to be very compelling (there are some exceptions) and almost all answers are "shoot from the hip" statements of a persons liberal or conservative beliefs.
I have even tried to ask some questions that I thought would prompt some interesting new ideas...nope...just more of the same clap trap junk.
Well, I have just about grown tired of the novelty now. I don't think I will be back.
I'm still looking for a place where legitimate questions can be asked and informed people respond in a manner that causes thought and consideration.
Any ideas anyone?

What you do is, whenever you see something that violates the Guidelines (link, bottom of page), including insulting other participants, click Report Abuse.
When they're docked points, and possibly suspended, they may get a clue.
As for your question, you're asking why there are rude and stupid people -- sorry, but that's just a silly question. Surely it isn't news to you that that's so.

Unfortunately, at times, questions posted here are very insulting and it is difficult for even an educated person to withhold his/her hostility.

I have gotten answers that smarted and left a mark in my brain. I did not like them either.

Just click 'Thumbs Down' and you don't have to look at the answerer's response and move on. That's what I do and it seems to work.
