Hubby and I want to go somewhere special for our next anniversary. It will be our first trip without the kids in a long time. Where is a romantic place to vacation within the Continental US? Someplace without snow! We will however, be travelling in August, so snow will probably not be an issue. Help us out here people. Thanks! We have been to Vegas (and love it), just looking for something different, where we can have some quality alone time and also have fun.

Why not New Orleans?
I know it's not the typical place one thinks of for romance, but it really can be. Plus you'd be helping out the economy and tourism there. If you like Las Vegas, New Orleans sounds like a great choice. Lots to do, very fun and the best food in the nation, if you like to eat, and who doesn't?
The French quarter is beautiful and you can take long strolls along the Mississippi at night, beautiful. Of course, it will be hot in August, but all hotels have air conditioning, and you can even gamble there.
We've gone twice since Katrina and it's getting better every time - we stayed at the Windsor Court and the hotel right next to it, the W - both are beautiful and within walking distance to everything.

Try Miami or Key West, they are beautiful places. My boyfriend and i went this past summer and had a blast, it was very romantic and RELAXING!!
