I'm wondering this as a parent actually.
My oldest kid is only 5 and doesn't hide things yet.
But I'm just curious.
I used to scoot one book, or a few if the item was big, forward a bit on the bookcase and put things behind the books.
Or inside stuffed animals pockets or clothes.

I guess it depends on what the "something" is.
It's best to hide a book with other books, for example.

I shouldn't give you kids any ideas but... I used to hide stuff in the dog house up on the ledge where the roof meets the walls. No body ever caught on. I love dogs !

Under my dresser. They never think to look there. Or if you have a shoebox in the top of your closet with junk... they'll never know there's anything different.

IMPOSSIBLE! At least at home! The harder you try to hide anything at home, the easier your Mommy can FIND it!
