There's a new one opening in my state, and I just heard that someone got a staph infection from visiting one. Also, if you have any pro's and con's that you would like to share I would like to hear them. Thanks.

Correction - question should read "Has anyone had any bad experience with INDOOR water parks?". Thank you.

I got a pretty serious staph infection from an indoor pool at the YMCA when I was a kid. It's one of those risks that you take when you share any space with numerous other people, which is something we do unless we choose to be hermits.

The chances of it happening are so minimal. Not going would make as much sense and never wanting to walk barefoot on the beach because you heard of someone cutting their foot on glass there once.

GO! ENJOY!

I've been going to water parks fairly regularly for most of my life. There are always a few incidents. I've had some experiences with skinned knees in the areas designated for little kids. My friend gave herself a bloody nose on this slide that shoots you out over a deep pool of water. But that was her fault, not a problem with the design of the attraction. As for staph infections, you run that kind of risk anywhere that you're going to be in water with other people and chemicals. My town pool often closes because some little kid pooped in the water. Once it was my friend's brother that threw up in it. But in general water parks are safe and fun for the family. There tend to be a lot of life guards on duty, and they do take any measures they can to prevent injury.

I'm sure there might be cons, but I grew up going to a few local water parks and it was always a lot of fun (just remember to drink a lot of water after being in the sun all day). We took my little sister last summer and it was a blast. I wouldn't worry too much.

Duh! When you go to the family pools, there is bound to have "accidents" in the kiddie pool. Oh yeah, once we went to this place where there was individual jacuzzies and my cousin went in every one!
Oh yeah, in this indoor pool place, everytime when someone goes, they evacuate everyone out, scoop the wast up, and then let people in there. (That is soooo nasty) And in that same kiddie pool, it was always warmer than the other pools.
